Gain Introductory Skills for Industry

CABOCES provides industrial classes designed to provide you with the skills you need to navigate in today and tomorrow’s industry.  You can learn the basics of welding and heavy equipment operation or take the required Pre-Assignment training to be a security guard; the Annual In-Service training for Security Guards is also available.

Available Classes

Heavy Equipment

Learn the safety and operation of skid steer loaders, excavator/mini-excavator, tractor/loader, bulldozer, dump truck, and forklift. Classes are offered at the CTE Center in Ellicottville, which is located at 5550 Route 242E in Ellicottville, NY.

After a successful weeklong, daytime program, we are considering doing it again and will share dates in this space once we decide if we will have the program that way again.

Security Guard 8-hour Pre-Assignment Course and Annual In-Service

Security guards protect property, maintain security, and enforce regulations and standards of conduct. This eight-hour class is required to be eligible to obtain employment as a security guard in New York State (NYS). Classes are held every September at our Olean Center and cost $110 per person.

Welding

Students will learn appropriate welding techniques in this 50-hour course. This course includes one-on-one training for MIG, TIG, stick, and creative designs. Classes are offered at the CTE Center in Olean and cost $1,050.  Classes for our Fall program will start on Tuesday, September 9th and will run from 5 until 7:30 pm.  We anticipate beginning the application process around July 1st.  If interested, please contact us and we can either email you the link to the online applications or mail you a paper application once they are available.
