The Fundamental Building Systems program will introduce students to the various mechanical systems present in all buildings — electricity, plumbing, heating/cooling, and more. Students will learn how to install, maintain, and repair each of these systems and will also learn the basics of framing and masonry. The program provides students with classroom instruction and hands-on experiences in various aspects of the construction industry. Students will learn the basic knowledge of tools, methods, and materials used in building systems. Shop safety and a safe work environment are a fundamental part of the class. Students who complete this course prepared for entry level employment or further studies in building systems or construction.
