The Fundamental Building Systems program will introduce students to the various mechanical systems present in all buildings — electricity, plumbing, heating/cooling, and more. Students will learn how to install, maintain, and repair building systems, plumbing, electrical or HVAC. The program provides students with classroom instruction and hands-on experiences in various aspects of the construction industry.

Students will learn the basic knowledge of tools, methods, and materials used in building systems. Shop safety and a safe work environment are a fundamental part of the class. Students who complete this course are prepared for entry level employment or further studies in building systems or construction.
