Welcome to Adult Cosmetology

CA BOCES offers classes in Cosmetology for adults who want to enter this exciting industry.  Whether you have no experience or you have earned some hours and want to finish them, we have an option for you.

1,000-Hour Program:
The applications for the 1000-Hour Program are closed.  We anticipate the next program starting in July 2027.

Hours Completion:

APPLY (Hours Completion/Refresher Only): Did you earn hours previously, either at one of our CTE Centers while in high school, at another BOCES district, or at another New York state-approved institution?  Did you earn your 1,000 hours, but never got licensed?  Applications are open year-round for Hours Completion and Refresher Students who want to get licensed!

Hours Completion costs $15 per hour for each hour needed to get licensed.  Refresher students are provided 50 hours of instruction for a cost of $750.  If a Refresher student wants more than 50 hours, they will be billed $15 per hour for each hour past 50.

Hours Completion and Refresher students who do not still have a kit from previous experience will need to purchase a new kit at a separate cost.  Please contact us for details of what is in the kit and how much the kit costs.
