The SkillsUSA Regional Competition was held at Alfred State College on Tuesday, March 7. The Career and Technical Education Center at Olean had one place finisher: Skyla Chapman from the Media Communications Technology program, who took second place in the Photography Competition. She is a senior from Olean High School.

Miss Chapman shared, "This was my first year going to SkillsUSA and it was an experience that really brought my attention to how many people my age are involved and passionate about digital art. I valued meeting people that share the same interests as me. I am very passionate about photography and being recognized for my work makes me strive to keep going and improve every day. This was definitely an experience that changed my perspective on the way the digital media field is growing and how many people there are that have the talent to become something, including myself."

According to Skills USA Advisor Todd McLaughlin, “We had a great group of students representing the work we do (at the CTE Center). Thanks to all students and faculty. Great job done by all!”
