Regional Scholastic Challenge Competition

February 3, 2018 - 8:00am
Portville Central School

Scholastic Challenge is a fast-paced contest which tests knowledge of academic trivia and current events.  Teams of four students measure their ability to recall details from a wide variety of topics. Students compete in separate Junior (grades 6-8) and Senior (grades 9-12) Divisions.  Throughout the day, thousands of questions are read aloud to the ambitious competitors.  Students combine an impressive display of intelligence with camaraderie, graciousness and good sportsmanship.  The final matches are held on stage in the PCS auditorium. First and second place teams in each division receive plaques and an invitation to attend the National Academic Championship.

This annual event is sponsored and coordinated by CABOCES.  For more information on Scholastic Challenge, please contact CABOCES Arts & Extra-curricular Student Program Coordinator Jean Oliverio at 716-376-8323 or email her at
