Unit Overview

  • The Global Positioning Units or GPS Units are a navigational technology that relies on the signals from satellites to determine exact position anywhere in the world.

  • A GPS receiver processes satellite signals that enables it to compute position, velocity, and time.
  • Once position is fixed, navigation to any point is possible.
  • GPS has the capability to display a map of a geographical area. You see where you are in relation to the features on the map.
