Enrollment is open to any person 16 years of age or older. Students who are currently enrolled in a high school must present written authorization from a home school official to register for a program. Adult Education programs do not provide high school or college course credit.

Early registration is required. Please don’t wait to register! We need a minimum number of registrants for each course in order to run it. Sometimes your registration will make the difference between running the class or cancelling it or you may lose a spot because the course is full. A seat can only be reserved if payment is received. In the event that a course is cancelled, an attempt to notify all registrants will be made via telephone.
Tuition and Fees
The fee covers normal supply costs for most courses. Payment is required in full at the time of registration. Book and supply fees are due at time of registration. We accept cash, money order, check, MasterCard and VISA. Notice: Any check returned for insufficient funds will be assessed a $25.00 fee.
*5-Hour Pre-Licensing Course and Points & Insurance Reduction course accept cash or money order ONLY.
If a minimum enrollment is not reached for a course, CA BOCES reserves the right to cancel the course and refund the tuition fees. In the event that a course is canceled, an attempt to notify all registrants will be made via telephone.
1. Full tuition refunds will be granted only for CANCELLATION OF CLASSES due to insufficient registration.
2. A refund minus 20% of the tuition will be issued by the CA BOCES finance office if the Adult Education Office is notified in writing five (5) days before the first class session of your intention to withdraw. No refunds will be granted after this time.
3. Refund Policy for Security Guard class -Students will be entitled to a 100% refund at any time prior to the start of instruction.
If an 8 hour course is divided between two 4-hour days, students will be entitled to a 50% refund if the student cancels after the start of instruction, but before the start of the second 4-hour block.
16 hour OJT course: Student will be entitled to a 50% refund if the student cancels after the start of instruction, but before the start of the second 8-hour block of instruction. If the instruction is divided between four 4-hour sessions, the refund schedule shall be 75%, 50%, and 25%.
A DCJS approved security guard training school cannot assess any non-refundable registration fees, deposits, or cancellation fees.
4. Refunds may take approximately 15-30 days to process.
Please note: Dental Assisting, Nurse Aide/HHA, Phlebotomy, Practical Nursing, 5-Hour Pre-licensing Course and Points & Insurance Reduction have separate refund policies that are not listed above. Be sure to ask for their policies before registering.
